Was your Boy Scout fascinated by the 2017 solar eclipse? Don’t miss this merit badge class! In SMO’s Boy Scout Astronomy Badge Class, Scouts will study how activities in space affect our own planet, learn about light pollution, get hands-on with telescopes, learn to identify constellations and stars, and attend a show in the museum’s Kirkpatrick Planetarium hosted by SMO’s astronomy experts.

>> Cost and Registration: Classes are $15 per Scout. Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required to hold your Scout’s space. Register online at http://www.sciencemuseumok.org/scouts or over the phone at (405) 602-3760.

>> Parents, Guardians, and Troop Leaders: A parent, guardian, or troop leader responsible for each Scout must remain at SMO for the duration of a badge class. One guardian is required for every six Scouts. Adults attending a badge class with a Scout will not be charged general admission to attend the class.

>> Badges: SMO museum educators strive to meet as many badge requirements as possible during the allotted class time. Copies of Blue Cards or certificates with the covered requirements will be distributed to each student.

Scout Badge Classes are exclusively for Scouts and their families. Guests may register individually or get a group together to join in the fun!
