Hi everyone! Can you believe the 89 day long month of January is finally over… and it’s 72 degrees out?! I have every window open in my work space and its tremendous! All I will say about January is that it was weird, and now an afterthought with February roaring in like a lion.

February 13, 2024, there is a special election vote to be had in Edmond. Part of your vote is on a bond for Edmond Public Schools to be able to carry the district through the next few years to handle growth in the district. It’s important to keep this flowing to match the growth, so make sure you get out and vote. Also on the ballot is Edmond’s State Senate seat for District 39.  If you are wondering about the candidates and their motivation for office or mission once they get into office, tonight you will be able to watch all candidates debate thanks to NonDoc Media, taking place in the Edmond Santa Fe High School Auditorium this evening at 6:30 pm. News 9 will also live stream this event live at Non Doc’s and News 9’s Facebook pages, in the event you cannot make it in person. More Info:

Jill Castilla, CEO of Citizen’s Bank of Edmond, once again, was on Bloomberg to promote all things community banking and really made a strong argument for banking with an independent local bank, one who is involved with the community and with whom you can reach the bankers directly! Great job to Jill in representing Edmond!

It’s now official! Sam Minick has retired, and named his replacement with a long time employee! Congratulations on a great run and I hope you enjoy taking life in!

Congratulations also goes out to Coach Hunter for being named Associate Head Coach of the UCO Women’s Softball team!

And last for today’s news, local Veteran service dog Lucy is leading the nation to be the cover dog for Modern Dog Magazine! Please take a moment to give her a vote, and vote daily each day to keep this Edmond gem in 1st Place!
