Friday, Sept. 7 marks the official kickoff of the newest Oktoberfest to hit the Oklahoma City metro – Midtown Oktoberfest.

The free, three-day festival featuring live entertainment will take place across the street from Fassler Hall in Midtown (421 NW 10), underneath a gigantic 9,000-square-foot tent on the Midtown Lawn at 10th and Hudson.

“We couldn’t be happier to bring a true Oktoberfest-style festival to downtown Oklahoma City,” said T.J. Bennett, General Manager of Fassler Hall. “There will be lots of food, drink and live entertainment to make sure everyone is happy, and has a great time.”

To accommodate the crowd, Fassler Hall will construct a full-size, outdoor temporary kitchen serving made-to-order Bavarian favorites, such as house-made bratwurst and sausages, schnitzel sandwiches, Bavarian pretzels and more, along with a large selection of German-style beers, cocktails and other Oktoberfest classics.

Midtown Oktoberfest will also feature live polka music, nighttime performances by The Flannels and DJ Tangerine, and a variety of Oktoberfest contests, games and entertainment, including stein-hoisting, sausage eating and best-dressed contests.

“We are thrilled for this event to be taking place in Midtown. It is a perfect opportunity for the community to gather in the heart of the district, to celebrate and take part in what we hope becomes a tradition every year,” said Mallory O’Neill, Director of District Management for Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership.
