Hi everyone! Welcome back to Around Edmond! If you are new to the blog, we are entering our 15th season, and there is so much going on this weekend more so than in previous years, Edmond is seemingly bursting with holiday spirit.

First, I want to just recognize Joe Tomlinson of NonDoc Media for his relentless coverage of civics and school board happenings with EPS this year. He is doing an exemplary job, and I just thought it should be mentioned. Click on the link above to read about city council meetings and school board meetings. I thought one excellent addition to EPS AP programs for the spring was the addition of AP African American History. Here’s to hoping Ryan Walters doesn’t decide to attack this amazing class anytime soon.

Every business and association has been busy with Christmas and Holiday parties this week, and DEBA hosted their party at the Hilton in North Edmond last night. Mr. Weiss who owns Othello’s and Around the Corner restaurants in Downtown Edmond among his many businesses, received the Hoot Gibson award!

Also, in Downtown Edmond this Saturday, there will be horse drawn carriage rides from 11-3 pm, with staging on Campbell and Broadway, and Downtown Edmond welcomes the Edmond Community Chorale this Saturday beginning at noon as they sing Christmas Carols throughout the district.
