Around Edmond: Today, the weather takes top story with DVD sized hail predicted and 90 mph winds. Libertyfest has terrific showing at new Band and the Ballet event. Heard on Hurd happening Saturday !
Hi everyone, thanks for coming back to see what’s happening around Edmond this week. City Council met Monday, approved a multi-million dollar budget, that included approval of funds amounting to $500,000 toward the Uncommon Ground Park without mention as to whether the developer or City have regrouped further negotiation of the withdrawal of the project by Hal French’s French Family Foundation. The City, however, in announcing that City employees were being paid under market, approved a pay raise and included an agreement to change the structure of how employees reach their pay raises in the future, down to a 10 step process, and improved maternity leave up to 8 weeks from 6 weeks, all positives for City employees.
Also. If you are new to Oklahoma, please please prepare for tonights weather and pay attention to the news, or NWS Norman at Twitter. The type of warnings we are getting are not normal, and not to be ignored!
Last night Libertyfest Edmond kicked off its 4th of July celebrations with The Band and the Ballet at Hafer Park with near perfect weather for those who attended! Check out their photo gallery here:
And don’t forget, Heard on Hurd’s June event is this Saturday and a fun way to enjoy community, the amazing food trucks, musicians and vendors along with enjoying some of the brick and mortar restaraunts, breweries and retailers staying open late for you to enjoy browsing through their businesses! The event is located in Downtown Edmond from 6-10 pm!
