Sparkling Sangria

With the temperature heating up, I found a couple of recipe’s from Tasty that I am combining into one for an amazing light alcoholic or non alcoholic treat for summertime, or for the Fourth of July! With Rose being popular in the warm months, this Sparkling Sangria fits the bill with the combination of white grape juice, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, combined with an affordable white and a sparkling wine.

To create the alcoholic version, add 1 lb. of strawberries, 1 cup of raspberries and 2 cups of blueberries to a serving container, then add 1 cup of white grape juice. Next, the Tasty recipe said to add 1 bottle of white wine, but I added 2 cups (due to adding white sparkling wine later). Let sit for at least 2 hours. When you are ready to serve, separate the wine mixture from the fruit, stack the fruit in glasses, add green apple stars, then fill each glass half way with the wine, then add half a glass of sparkling wine, and serve.

For the non alcoholic version, I combined the fruit with the white grape juice and let it sit for at least 2 hours, then when ready to serve just added the sparkling white cider.

This recipe is terrific and lightweight, and a great way to celebrate family and friends before and on the Fourth of July!
