Hi everyone! A lot of life happened in the last two weeks, with kids going back to in person learning, vaccines quickly rolling out to more people and events in our metro starting to arrive, and not a moment too soon. As EdmondActive is a street magazine, I publish when there is not a public health threat, and I am excited that vaccines are here and the number of cases have gone down since last fall.

In 2019, so many were about unplugging, and then 2020 saw all of us use the internet to shop for food, home & groceries. I am so grateful for those who have continued to follow @EdmondActive over the years, but to our new followers who are just used to EdmondActive being on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, for 12 years I have offered news through this blog weekly and in print 6-8 times a year, and am excited to get moving for 2021!

This year has been one that was long, and sad for many, and hopefully this Spring will usher in healing amongst us all. A bright spot this weekend is that we will gain an hour of sunlight Sunday, and Edmond Public Schools starts their Spring Break on Monday. It’ll be a great week to refresh.

Edmond Vibes 1st Thursday Art Walk Season Series Opener Happens April 1, 2021 through October 2021 From 5-9pm

After much discussion among city and community leaders and downtown business owners in 2020, DEBA (Downtown Edmond Business Association) and Edmond Fine Arts Institute decided to try their hand at a recurring monthly arts festival-like event series involving Downtown Edmond Businesses.

Mercy is the headlining sponsor that is monitoring the pandemic and all state and local ordinances will be upheld, to ensure the safety of all who plan to visit. This event is meant to help residents become familiar with all of the businesses located in our Downtown district, and to highlight the artistic side of Downtown Edmond.

Vibes will be a free open air event that pairs artists and performers with downtown businesses, highlighting both during the 4 hour events, with changing performers and artists each month.

For more information about the participating artists, performers and participating businesses, visit www.Edmondvibes.org
