Around Edmond: Luminance up & running after being vandalized. Citizen’s Bank hosts final free photos with Santa Tuesday 12/21/21 5-7 pm. Merry Christmas Edmond.
Hi everyone! I’m just getting back to normal after having contracted Covid a couple of weeks ago, and whew, thank goodness for the vaccine and booster that I am hands down positive kept me out of the ICU. It’s a bear for sure, so be sure to get your booster or initial shots if you haven’t.
While I was recuperating, the City of Edmond announced that Luminance had been seriously vandalized and that some displays would be out of order for the remainder of the season. Wait. What? Why would anyone do this to a beautiful, free and fun display? Nevertheless, some amazing folks at the City were actually able to repair the vandalized displays and all is bright again and in full at Mitch Park!
Tonight from 5-7 pm, Santa will be available for free pictures at Citizen’s Bank of Edmond for the last time this season! Be sure to head over and take your photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Emory Anne Interiors had such a year, I’ll tell you. Navigating through the pandemic, then helping plan Anne’s son’s wedding post pandemic to then having their catalytic converter stolen out of their delivery truck in their own parking lot last week. Be sure to stop in this week to show your support to this iconic and always fun boutique, but don’t wait until Friday because Anne is taking Christmas Eve off this year and well deserved, at that!
Merry Christmas Edmond, even with all of the social changes that have occurred, you all are still the best neighbors one could ask for. Thank you for the lively conversation and thoughtful discourse and thank you for knowing when I need a positive boost by sending over positive story ideas this month. The connection we have all built over the last 13 years has meant everything to me, and I couldn’t appreciate all of you more. This next year I will be studying by way of Arizona State University online to better equip me to bring you EdmondActive in print, here at the site and on our social media feeds, as well as producing the magazine on a regular schedule as we learn to navigate this virus out in the public, and of course heading out to actually bring you more from local retailers and restaurants. One announcement that told me how to proceed was that Heard on Hurd will be back in 2022 with a full regular schedule! Yay!
I hope all of you enjoy the remainder of this week with family and friends, and slow down and enjoy the season while out finishing things up (whether you’re finishing or just getting started, like myself.)
Merry, Merry Christmas to all of you! Can’t wait for 2022!
