Hi everyone, welcome back to Around Edmond. If you are new to the area, Around Edmond is EdmondActive magazine’s online weekly blog. I will be relaunching the print edition to fill the need that is missed and was missed by my own publication, and I can’t wait to debut the new format that links up to our website and to our social networks of over 36,000 residents at Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Dr. Richard Safi Memorial Information

Edmond resident and attorney Lezel Safi posted memorial information and memorial donation information today at Instagram and Facebook that I want to share with those who want to celebrate the life of her husband, beloved Dr. Richard Safi, who passed this weekend after a bicycle accident on Highway 77 just north of Guthrie. I am so so sorry and offer my condolences to his the family & friends for your loss.

Please join us as we celebrate Rick this Friday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at the Sundance Airport, located at 13000 N. Sara Road in Yukon.

Although we are beyond heartbroken, words cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for this community who has uplifted our family during this time of immeasurable grief.

You have given us hope and light during a period that feels so dark, and for that…we are deeply humbled and honored.

It was Rick’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to our children’s (Ariana, Evan, and Tye) 529 College Funds.

We ask that any charitable donations be made to The Safi Family Educational Trust through our GoFundMe page https://gofund.me/6eb817f5 , or donated directly to www.ugift529.com.

The ugift529 codes for our  beautiful children are listed here: Ariana’s Code: V9J-B56, Evan’s Code: H0E-P1N and Tye’s Code: R02-Y2B.
