One of the year’s most anticipated annual events, the Bricktown Tree Lighting Festival presented by SONIC, will take place the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event serves as the kickoff to the holiday season, as Mayor David Holt lights the Christmas Tree with Santa Claus.

The first Tree Lighting Festival took place in 2002, and has since grown to include a live band, food trucks, face painting, and visits with Santa. The festival will be held on the 3rd Base Plaza at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark (2 S. Mickey Mantle Dr.).

The evening will be emcee’d by OkSessions very own, Christian Pearson. Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma’s cast of The Christmas Carol will start the show singing carols. Jabee Williams will be making a special performance, followed by headliner’s Maggie McClure and Shane Henry.

The Curbside Chronicle will be on site selling holiday wrapping paper through the “Wrap Up Homelessness” campaign.
