Around Edmond: City cameras document progress on new City Complex still operating at predicted budget and in line for expected March of 2025 completion. OKC places a moratorium on Air B&B applications for 180 days. Shop Edmond for Krazy Daze! First weekend of August marks Tax Free Weekend, with school around the corner…
Hi everyone, welcome back to another Around Edmond! You’ll notice above, we have a new podcast! I am so excited to finally launch this podcast for which I have wanted to do since 2012. Thanks for listening and reading, and for your patience as this little podcast gets started.
What a year this last week has been nationally. Aside from national politics, and undue antics by our State Superintendent of Public Education, who is trying his hardest to force a change of curriculum that forces Bible studies for English, Social Studies and other class curriculums, parents in Edmond and surrounding communities are mostly concentrating on getting their kids ready for the new school year.
Happening just today, the OKC City Council overwhelmingly voted to place a moratorium on Air B&B applications for 180 days, due to out of state parties purchasing large blocks of homes to create swaths of short term rentals.
It will be interesting, what with an Edmond housing shortage, to see what if anything Edmond City Council does to prevent this from happening in Edmond, going forward.
