Citizens Bank of Edmond is thrilled to announce its continued commitment to bolstering the local economy with hosting five cash mobs throughout the month of November, in celebration of the upcoming Small Business Saturday. The concept of ‘cash mobs’ was initiated by the bank a decade ago at Chirps & Cheers, at that time located in downtown Edmond, with the aim of promoting patronage at small businesses within the community. This year, the initiative continues its tradition of supporting the heart of Edmond by organizing a series of cash mobs. Already held this week was at Faye’s Closet in RiSE on November 3. The other events planned for this month are Heritage House on November 10, Oak City Pizza Co. on November 17, a two-day event at Bluebird Books on November 24-25.

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of cash mobs, there will also be one on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Chirps & Cheers, which is now in Midtown.

“At Citizens Bank of Edmond, we have always believed in the power of community and the significance of supporting local businesses,” said Jill Castilla, president and CEO of Citizens Bank of Edmond. “These cash mobs are a testament to our ongoing commitment to foster economic growth within Edmond and Oklahoma City. We are thrilled that we have reached a decade of cash mobs making a positive impact on the small business landscape of our city.”

The cash mob events, which entail each employee being allocated $10 to spend at the designated local small businesses, aim to create a surge of support and awareness for the establishments that form the backbone of our community. Citizens Bank of Edmond encourages all members of the community to join in the celebration of Small Business Saturday and participate in these cash mobs to contribute to the prosperity of the local entrepreneurial spirit. The community is invited to visit Citizens Bank of Edmond to collect a cash mob certificate on the day of each cash mob.
