I recently sat down with Risa Wilkins, owner and artist at Oops I Arted, located on Bryant just south of 33rd Street in East Edmond to discuss what sets her art studio apart from others.

Risa is an amazing artist, and Risa is also a degreed art teacher. Risa’s experience as a founding member of Keystone Adventure School and as an art teacher at Heritage Hall for over 16 years, gives her the ability to leave everyone who visits her art studio instilled with a love of art that only her creative spark can bring.

Here is more of our conversation to help you become acquainted with this wonderfully creative locally owned art studio:

EA: Tell us a little bit about your teaching background and why you started Oops I Arted.

Risa: My teaching background consists of teaching at Edmond Public Schools, Heritage Hall, Co -founder and Co-Director of Keystone Adventure School and Farm and the creation of Oops I Arted! I have always integrated arts into the curriculum within my classroom in every subject. I loved teaching and I loved art! I took every opportunity I was given to teach additional art classes, summer camps and after school art classes during my teaching career. It was a natural evolution to open an art studio for kids where they could experience all the wonders of creating art. I wanted to create a space for kids and adults to come and experience a stress-free and inspirational environment that they could have the opportunities to create and hang out. The result was an n eclectic and one of a kind, very whimsical studio. One that suits the needs of all artists. Whether they are looking for art classes for their kids, an art space or class for their creations, or just a friend or family night out.

EA: What is Oops I Arted?

Risa: Oops I Arted is a large, whimsical and inviting art studio for all age groups. It offers art classes for children, adults, families, large groups, small groups, special projects, team-building events, and summer classes and camps as well as a beautiful space for special events! I offer both group classes and individual classes for children adults and special groups. You can have Oops I Arted host birthday parties, special events of any type, group events for friends and families. The studio also has a beautiful space large enough to host parties and special events. I have hosted wedding receptions, showers, pop up shops and even pod casts. A delightful and inspiring space for all kinds of events.

EA: What else would you like EA readers to know about Oops I Arted?

Risa: The most important thing I would like Edmondactive readers to know about Oops I Arted is that it is for everyone! I have done art with littles up to 90-year-old adults. There is no right or wrong when it comes to creative expression. Oops I Arted is a place created for all to enjoy and experience a wonderful time!
