The UCO College of Fine Arts and Design and UCO Music present a performance by the UCO Symphony Orchestra. This event is a Student Showcase, featuring music composed, conducted and performed by UCO students.
The concert will feature the student winners of the 2017 UCO Symphony Concerto and Aria Competition. Flutist Ximeng Lu will perform the first movement of German composer Carl Reinecke’s “Flute Concerto in G Major” and soprano Jessica Adkins will sing “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” by the American composer Samuel Barber.
The UCO Symphony will present the world premiere of a newly composed orchestra work, “Solitude,” by UCO composition and percussion student Chris Prather, performed under the baton of UCO graduate student Jose Batty.
The program will conclude with a performance of Tchaikowsky’s Symphony No. 4 under the direction of the orchestra’s conductor, Dr. Ralph Morris.
Free for UCO students with a current valid student ID.
