Trailblazer Series featuring Erika Lucas
March 22 @ 4:45 pm - 6:00 pm
The Women Lead Oklahoma Trailblazer Series features women who are leading the way in their fields. Our speakers share their journeys and answer your questions about navigating the professional world.
Women Lead Oklahoma is thrilled to host a conversation with entrepreneur, public speaker, innovation advocate, and all-around boss, Erika Lucas.
Born and raised in Mexico, Erika Lucas began her career facilitating the establishment and in-country operation of several international manufacturing companies, followed by her tenure as Global Director at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, where she helped establish the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) unit. Prior to launching StitchCrew, she worked at a Private Equity Firm with investments in the U.S. and Europe.
Her belief that most of the pressing challenges faced today cannot be solved through policy or traditional mindset, but by disruptive technologies, bold entrepreneurs and open collaboration led her to co-found StitchCrew in 2016. StitchCrew is a firm aiming to democratize access to resources and social capital to increase entrepreneurial participation in underrepresented communities. In partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder, she runs an accelerator program that connects underrepresented founders with the capital, network, and resources they need to launch and scale businesses. Erika operates on the belief that titles and pedigrees are not necessarily indicative of problem-solving aptitudes. From managing teams and developing execution blueprints to taking out the trash, she is constantly looking for ways to improve circumstances and disrupt the status quo.
Erika serves on multiple private and public boards, including Arvest Bank, OK Department of Commerce, OKC County Health Department, Oklahoma Policy Institute Board, Potts Family Foundation and often speaks on the subject of entrepreneurship, cultivating inclusive ecosystems, venture capital, public-private-partnerships, forward-thinking policy
Trailblazer Tickets are $15 and lunch will be provided.
