UPDATE 1/9/2019: (Please see the discussion for further updates as FB will not allow us to update the main information more than a couple times.) Tulsa March is back ON for a full weekend of Oklahoma Women in Action! Join us in Tulsa for a Women’s March on Saturday the 19th, join us in OKC for this Women’s March on Sunday the 20th, and then join your local communities on Monday to celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It’s going to be a weekend to remember! #WomensMarchWeekend #WeekendOfAction #BePurposefullyIntersectional #NoOneIsFreeUntilWeAreAllFree #WMOK #WMOK2019

UPDATE 12/30/2018: Tulsa is NOT holding an event on Saturday and is asking those who are interested to either come together to organize one, attend the Sunday event, or find other ways to participate in activism locally. Grassroots organizing is a labor of love, but it’s also incredibly challenging. We appreciate Tulsa organizers for doing what they can and for what they continuously contribute throughout the year. We have shared their post in the discussion below.

Information regarding the DC delegation has been posted below with one package leaving DC Saturday at 5pm and another package leaving on Sunday in the morning. We were hoping to have raised enough funds to both pay for the event and sponsor a portion of cost for the delegation, however donations have been slow we assume due to election season and the holidays. As such, we have worked with an agent to secure reasonably priced packages for those interested in flying. We do not have buses leaving Oklahoma for DC.

Information for ordering t-shirts will hopefully be posted soon. We will for sure be selling shirts at the event!

UPDATE 10/17/2018:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the poll. Since the poll went up, we have had new developments regarding a very unique opportunity for Oklahoma Marchers. The national organization has reached out to us and asked us to send a delegation of Oklahomans to Washington DC. They believe that the women of Oklahoma hold more power than we are led to believe and now is the time to engage and empower so, as such, we will be sending as large a delegation as we can manage to DC for the Women’s March on Washington on January 19th. As a result of this incredible opportunity, we will be hosting the Oklahoma City Women’s March on Sunday, January 20th so that our DC marchers have the opportunity to attend and participate in both marches.

Our efforts in this tumultuous year where we’ve watched our leaders turn back women’s rights to the stone age are two fold, but we are ready to ride the #womenswave.

We are outraged. We are organized. They forgot that 5 million women lit the world on fire two years ago. In January, 2019, we’re going to remind them when we flood the streets of Washington, D.C., and with sister marches in cities across the globe.
