Couples and single adults are invited on a date with wildlife at the Zoo’s new 21+ event series
DATE NIGHTS at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden offer an unforgettable experience every Thursday evening in June (June 6, June 13, June 20 and June 27) from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Almost the entire Zoo will be open for couples 21 and older to explore together, enjoying the beautiful late spring and early summer Oklahoma sunsets with a multitude of activity options.
In addition to exploring wildlife at dusk, DATE NIGHT attendees can participate in beer and wine tastings, a sea lion presentation, dance lessons, karaoke, outdoor games and special keeper chats with OKC Zoo animal experts who will share the unique courting rituals of some of our most popular animals. The full menu of custom culinary creations at Lotus Pavilion will be available for purchase, as well as selections from a special outdoor grille at the Devon picnic grounds overlooking Zoo Lake.
“No other destination can top the Oklahoma City Zoo as the perfect place for a date” said Greg Heanue, OKC Zoo chief marketing officer. “Our DATE NIGHT event series invites couples and single adults to explore more than 80 acres of animal habitats and gardens and participate in fun activities designed to spark a sense of wonder. “
In partnership with regional pride organizations, the event on Thursday, June 20, will be OKC Zoo Pride DATE NIGHT. OKC Zoo Pride DATE NIGHT particularly welcomes and celebrates inclusivity of Oklahoma’s LGBTQ community. Pride Week in Oklahoma City is June 17-23 with Pride events happening throughout the month and around the city.
