Hi! I am Sherri Hultner and I am the founder of EdmondActive and have lived in Edmond for almost two decades.

I started EdmondActive July 13, 2009, at Facebook, as a way to bring city information about all of Edmond into one place, then two weeks later I started Around Edmond blog here at the site July 24, 2009 as a way of starting the conversation as to what is happening around our town. Businesses throughout town thought I was wasting my time “playing around on the internet” and 98% of businesses didn’t want to waste their time or money being promoted on a media platform that resided in most residents’ hands at least 18 hours a day.

Over the last 14 years, I have been blessed to tell hundreds of local stories about people, businesses and events.

I have created effective powerful content that has helped hundreds of businesses well before marketing specialists, social media/content creator’s and influencers job titles existed. I have 26 years’ experience as a publisher of local zines, a glossy 80-page National motocross magazine, distributed at a extremely high sell through on national newsstands of over 30%, and EdmondActive Magazine – which this experience has culminated to our current digital publishing.

The main concentration of my work is with the EdmondActive social media networks. I am always available for consulting in this area. For the last 13 years I have been creating content and photography (except for the period during Covid) for locally owned businesses that helps businesses see feet through their doors, or helps each business stand out amongst their competition, exclusively in Edmond. The Edmond market isn’t easy to navigate successfully, and Edmond’s independent businesses require more than just a plug and play mentality from marketers. Normally, you’ll find me out weekly, procuring photos for the magazine, website and social networks, however these days, I am available to come out and take photos by appointment.

I help build social media followings, create photography that helps shine a positive light on your services or products, as well as tell your businesses story here at EdmondActive.com weekly, and daily at Facebook and Twitter at @EdmondActive and at Instagram and Threads at @EdmondActiveMag.

My only other goal with EdmondActive is to also shine a light on why Edmond is a great place to live and work, and to also to help residents connect with their local government’s processes and to promote resident involvement, ultimately so that outside interests and new residents want to make Edmond their home and a place where they want to invest.

I have been married for 34 years and have lived in Edmond for just under two decades, have 2 adult sons whom I am very proud of who both also live and work in Edmond. I have also been a dog mom to 4 labs, 1 shepherd lab, and a golden retriever/pyrenes – along with running a busy business, so I understand the plight of busy residents along with busy locally owned businesses who are trying to find the time to market their own businesses.
