Hi everyone!

What a busy two weeks it’s been! Mother’s Day has come and gone, graduations and the end of school has many of you on vacation or in the middle of starting the summer with home improvement projects!

I have a new issue being distributed now, with a new issue out within the next two weeks! We talked to a couple of Edmond educators about their reasons for walking out in April and it’s worth a read to really get a feel for what our teacher’s are experiencing.

It should be a no brainer that these extremely educated individuals should be making more than they are, but that we should be applying more funds to our students and to the classrooms. No one should be teaching from a 10 year or older textbook and no student should be learning sitting atop a countertop because there aren’t enough desks, tables or chairs. The gains the educator’s achieved are now at risk because of State Question 799. Take a look at this article by Non Doc below to find out why:

Heard on Hurd May Event

Saturday, May 19th, saw the return of Heard on Hurd and what a terrific turnout! The weather guru’s had a 90% chance of rain starting at 7 pm and as the event gods had it, the weather held off until about 9:30 or so.

The Old Bulldog Band started the fun, with Ray Hibbard, Chairman of the Board of Citizen’s Bank of Edmond and publisher of Life and Leisure joined in on the fun!

Up next was David Broyles aka Dr. Pants! He is always so energetic with his fun music style, and he attracted the very cutest tiny mosh pit! Hoping to see this band return to Edmond again soon, always very fun.

Lincka finished up the night with a rousing and soulful group of sets, and the crowd loved it! And, Lincka also treated the little fans to a meet and greet, so cute!

The next event happens on Saturday June 16th, from 6-10 pm in Downtown Edmond. Don’t miss it!
